5 Reasons Why your Blog Bounce Rate is so High!

You know that regretful moment when you land on a post thinking you gonna find something awesome, only to click the back button the next second? Yeah, we’re going to talk about that.

NO 1: Slapping me in the face..
With really big email subscription stuff that I simply don’t have a clue how to close. Stepping up your blogging game with email subscription services is good. We all need that. BUT, if I don’t want to subscribe, and your form simply won’t go away no matter what I do, I’m gonna click the hell back.

What you can do:
So when you do set up your email subscription bars, pop ups etc, make sure to view it for yourself on someone else’s phone or tablet. Think of yourself as someone who landed on your blog post for the first ever time, if you can close your email pop up within half a second, you’re doing a good job.

NO 2: You broke my trust. I’m never coming back to your blog.
Your blog post title says “How i make $2000 a month” and when I curiously clicked on it, you talk about how you’ve managed to make $2000 for the past 3 or 4 months.

What you can do:
It’s simple. Just deliver me whatever you promised to give from your post title.

NO 3: 500+ words later, we’re still reading your post introduction.

You know that beginning part of the post like a movie opening scene, your one is so LONG that my eyes started annoying my hands to click back.

What you can do:
Go ahead and write whatever the heck you want to write and publish as you would normally. Next second, ask the boldest friend or family member you have to read it out and tell you how they feel about it. Ask them specifically about the length of your post.

Before you hit that share button, get someone’s opinion about the length of your post.

NO 4: You failed to grab my attention within the first 2-4 seconds…
Of me landing on your post. Like where’s the bullet points? Or some sub titles at least? Or at least a few bolded words?

90% of the time, your readers will skim through for sub titles, bullet points and easy to read points. If you get their attention on that, they might decide to hang around for longer and read some more.

What you can do:
If you’re going to write a post with more than 500 words, don’t forget to add some bullet points and sub titles here and there.

NO 5: Christmas is about to be here before your post fully loads up.
Seriously, if your post is taking more than 3 seconds to load. That’s the first thing you need to work on.
Certain plugins and image sizes are often the main cause of higher page speed. I’m working on this one big time.

What you can do:
There are some plugins that scan your blog and let you know which plugins are slowing down your blog speed. I’m not sure which one’s the best yet, so I will update on this later. If you already know, feel free to let us all know in the comments below.

Some more? 3 Things you do that can kill your blog success!

So tell me, how fast do you want to click back from here?

Totally agree! For me..one of the big things is music. If I want to listen to music, I will put it on myself. Your post does not need it’s own soundtrack. Secondarily, going overboard on ads. If there are more advertisements than text, or if I can’t see your post because of ads…I’m gone.
